Our Service

YC Spaces is a non-profit that provides free of charge, in-person counselling sessions to High-School & Post-Secondary students to address concerns such as (but not limited to): Health & Wellness, Parent/Child Concerns, Bullying, Peer-Pressure, Self-esteem, Eating Disorders, Personal Growth, Depression, Grief & Loss, Anxiety, or Stress.

What does the first session look like?

The first session is typically going to be about getting to know you, your stressors and what it is that you want to discuss. The counsellor will explain how a typical session works and let you know what you can expect from the service.

Where does the counselling session take place?

Our counselling sessions are in-person and take place in a townhouse unit studio space located located in the Churchill Meadows, Mississauga area.

Are the sessions confidential?

Yes! All members of the YC administration team and counsellors have signed confidentiality forms that forbid them to share your information with anyone else. You will be shown and reassured of the confidentiality agreements before your first session.

Why in-person counselling?

Research shows greater effectiveness and engagment for in-person sessions than online or over-the-phone sessions. The environment of in-person counselling is designed to make you comfortable while enabling the counsellor to understand your concern better from various aspects like non-verbal communication that can not be acheived over the phone.
